Volunteering with Rochdale, Oldham and District Samaritans
If you are thinking about joining Samaritans as a volunteer however not quite sure what it involves, why not get in touch and find out more?
Whether you're considering becoming a listening volunteer, a support volunteer, or not quite sure yet, we can answer all your questions about who Samaritans are and what we do. Listening to our callers by phone, e-mail SMS or face-to face; fundraising; taking part in outreach: these are just some of the activities you can become involved in. We also hold regular social events.
You don't need qualifications or experience - just a willingness to give a some of your time to help people when they are going through a tough time.
You'll find that, as well as helping others, you'll also develop new skills and make new friends. Still interested? Should you wish to discuss please ring 07508 108874.
You've got nothing to lose. Come to our branch in Caton Street, Rochdale OL16 1QJ and find out who we are and what we do!
'Students! If you are hoping to count your hours towards a university volunteering module, please be aware that this is possible ONLY with agreement of the Branch Director and ONLY after you become a full volunteer. This takes at least 7 – 9 months from the start of training.'
