Support volunteer Phil's latest fundraising challenge
On Saturday 9th June 2018, around 10,000 people, including Northallerton stalwart support volunteer Phil (and very possibly some people who will have at some point contacted Samaritans during a time of need), will be united at the start line of this year’s Great North Swim, taking on distances of up to 5km in length!
Phil’s challenge consisted of a casual (?) one-mile loop in Lake Windermere, with an eye to eclipse his lone previous time of 62 minutes (an endeavour that left him with cramp in both legs and a highly undignified stumble along the ‘completion corridor’).
This challenge won’t be easy, but Phil's friends and supporters are an invaluable asset. Hats off to everyone who is taking part and thank you Phil for your sterling fundraising work!
