Herefordshire Samaritans and SSAFA Herefordshire work together to deliver support to members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families who may be in emotional distress or experiencing feelings of suicide.

Herefordshire Samaritans is pleased to announce our partnership agreement with SSAFA Herefordshire. Working together we will deliver support to members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families who may be in emotional distress or experiencing feelings of suicide.

SSAFA is the oldest military charity, founded in 1885. Its purpose is to provide lifelong support to all those serving, or who have served, in any of HM Armed Forces. It also supports the families of both serving personnel and veterans. Help offered can be financial, practical help, signposting to other agencies, and advice. Support is confidential and non-judgmental, and is managed by trained volunteer local caseworkers. SSAFA assistance is for all those who are serving or who have served for at least one complete day in any of HM Armed Forces, wives, former wives, partners and former partners of the above, and dependent children of the above.

SSAFA Herefordshire is contactable 24 hours a day/7 days a week via a staffed answering service on 01432 273932 and their email address is herefordshire@ssafa.org.uk.
