Time to Talk Day is a chance for all of us to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives. Smaritans were pleased to support the event at Shire Hall, talking and listening to staff.
Samaritans also highlights that "small talk saves lives", our aim is that fewer people die by suicide, that can be achieved by people working together to become better listeners and we have a range of resources to support that journey for people.
We were also pleased to that several people expressed an interest in becoming volunteers, that's not for everyone but anyone can take a look at our listening tips, which might help them support a friend, colleague or family member going through a difficult time.
