Folkestone Dover and Hythe Samaritans. Non Listening Volunteer Roles

Friends of Samaritans

Our branch is run, managed, staffed and funded by volunteers, so there is a variety of roles that can be undertaken within the organisation. We are all different and we all have different skills ot offer, different amount of time to give and varied experiences to share. By supporting Samaritans as a non-listening volunteer you'll be giving something back to your local community, and you'll have the chance to meet new people. As a Friend of Samaritans you will be involved in planning and running all kinds of fund-raising events thus making a valuable contribution to the day to day operating costs of our branch.

Typical fundraisers include boot fairs, store collections, a bard dance, quiz night and murder mystery evening. We have also organised profit making day trips and are always looking for new ideas to boost our funds. Access training and support, gain new skills and put your current skills in to action.

How can I join the Friends?

If you are interested in joining the Friends, click on ‘volunteer at this branch’ and tick the ‘help fundraise with us’ box.  Even if you don’t wish to join our small committee – an extra pair of hands at a fund-raising event is always welcome.
