Lunch with the Queen

Wednesday 8th June 2016
Two volunteers from Coventry Samaritans will be guests at “The Patrons Lunch” in London on Sunday 12 June 2016...

On that day the Mall in St James’s Park will be transformed into a street party for 10,000 people who will be celebrating the work of the charities for whom the Queen is patron. Although most tickets have been made available to these charities, Coventry Samaritans has received a special invitation  as we are holders of the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The lunch will be served at tables along the length of the Mall and will be attended by the Queen and other members of the royal family. The volunteers attending from Coventry Samaritans will be Mary, who has been a volunteer for 18 years and Page who joined us in 2015.

Coventry Samaritans is managed and operated entirely by unpaid volunteers  and we are looking for new recruits now.   We cannot promise you lunch with the Queen but we can offer you a very rewarding opportuntity to use your skills over a few hours per week to support people who are going through difficult times in their life.  Full training is provided and we will reimburse travelling expenes.  For further information please click here.
