We have been celebrating 50 years

Speakers at our 50th birthday lunch
Monday 23rd November 2015
November sees the Cardiff Branch reach its 50th birthday

Cardiff Samaritans is one of Cardiff’s oldest charities and is the oldest of all the other Samaritan Branches throughout Wales.  Today we celebrated this with a lunch at the Pierhead in Cardiff Bay.  We were privileged to hear from Julie Morgan AM who thanked the Branch on behalf of the Welsh Governement for the long service we have provided.  Our Joint President, Professor Jamie Hacker-Hughes said a few words as did the Chair of Trustees of Samaritans, Jenni McCartney.

We feel immensely proud to have offered emotional support to Cardiff for 50 years and thank all those who have supported us.

The lunch also saw the launch of a campaign for us to raise money for the refurbishment of our building which will help us best serve our callers and enable us to continue for another 50 years and beyond.
