Volunteers at Bradford Samaritans

Do you feel able to be part of someone's life, when they are in crisis and offer a calm and caring voice ? If the answer is yes, Bradford Samaritans want to hear from you.

Samaritans volunteers are ordinary people. We come from all walks of life and all backgrounds and cultures, but we all have one thing in common: we care.

Listening volunteers

To ensure that Bradford Samaritans are able to continue to offer support to those in need, we are always looking for listening volunteers.

You don't need any formal qualifications, just a natural ability to listen non-judgementally and offer emotional support.

All volunteers receive special training in listening skills.

We are not counsellors, because we do not give advice - we try to understand how a person feels by giving them our total attention and really listening.

Support volunteers

Bradford Samaritans are also always on the look out for support volunteers who play an integral part in keeping Bradford Samaritans running.

Support volunteers help out with administration, fundraising, publicity, outreach and working in our charity shop.
