Dublin Marathon success for Meadhbh

Meadhbh celebrates her Marathon success
Monday 30th October 2017
When she completed her first full marathon in the Belfast event in 2016 it was clearly such an inspiring experience for Meadhbh Caldwell that she decided to follow it up by taking to the streets again this year, this time in the Dublin Marathon. Not only did Meadhbh successfully navigate 27 miles of the streets and highways of the Fair City but she also did a tremendous job of raising much needed funds for Belfast Branch of Samaritans

As the event approached Meadhbh was quietly confident and the success of last year's marathon spurred her on to do it all over again "after such a successful fundraising effort from all my friends and family last year, I decided to set up a just giving page for my second marathon and raise a few quid for a great local charity, Samaritans Belfast Branch."

Occasionally, preparations had to compete with other priorities but as race day neared confidence was on the rise...."Training has been harder second time around mostly due to having too much fun celebrating engagements over the summer. But after my final long run I'm feeling confident it's going to be a great day and I won't let down the Belfast Samaritans!"

As she crossed the finishing line, proud Mum Kathy was there to capture the celebration.

From everyone at Belfast Branch we want to say a great big THANK YOU to Meadhbh and also to her family, friends and supporters who gave her so much support and encouragement along the way! We truly appreciate your dedication and support and it will make a big difference as it enables us to be there for our callers right round the clock, every day of the year.
