A little about the role...
We are looking for a Research & Evidence Officer to join our team to help ensure our services and influencing work are based on the best available evidence. This post is critical to the effective delivery of our helpline and our wider suicide prevention work.
In this role you will provide new and insightful evidence to underpin all Samaritans’ work, from fundraising campaigns to service innovations. Reporting to the Senior Research & Evidence Manager as part of a busy and ambitious External Affairs department, this role plays a key part in achieving Samaritans’ vision that fewer people die by suicide. You will be an experienced researcher who is highly organised, and able to analyse and critically assess evidence of a variety of kinds. You will also work closely with our policy and influencing teams to design and deliver impactful primary research projects. You will have experience of both quantitative and qualitative research, ideally with vulnerable groups or in relation to suicide and/mental health fields. Being able to translate evidence and communicate it effectively to a range of audiences is a key part of the role.
