About the role/person
Samaritans are looking to recruit a Policy & Communications Officer to work with our Executive Director for Wales. The post will be for 12 months and will provide maternity cover for the permanent postholder. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the work of Samaritans in Wales and to be a part of our dedicated and enthusiastic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the work of Samaritans and of the Executive Director for Wales to raise awareness of our work and to influence policy and practice. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for increasing understanding of the work and messages of Samaritans at a Welsh national and local level through, for example, policy briefings for external audiences.
This post requires the experience of working in a communications, policy or public affairs environment with the ability to communicate at all levels within and outside the organisation. The role also requires the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and a sound understanding of the role of communications and policy in a large, volunteer-led, federated charity.
The post is full time however, Samaritans are open to flexible working and will consider applications for working 4 days per week.
