- Ewell, Surrey
- Monday to Friday; 9am to 5pm

About the role
Samaritans are looking for a Digital Communications Officer who wants to develop their skills to create great content for our digital channels. The right candidate will help us support more people and encourage supporters to fundraise or volunteer for us.
This role will primarily involve content writing, editing and management on our website and our email marketing channels, as well as managing our email automations so we can provide our site’s users with great supporter journeys. You’ll also be our team’s primary contact with our volunteers, who look for digital support for their pages on our external website and other digital opportunities.
You’ll have experience of writing content for a range of different audiences, so people can find the support they need, or be inspired to donate, volunteer or campaign for us. You should also be familiar with digital reporting, so you can assess how successful our content is, and be familiar with using content management systems and email service providers.
You’ll also know your way around Adobe Creative Cloud tools like Photoshop and InDesign to create great graphics for our website and email marketing.
You’ll have the support of a team of five with skills in all things digital, from web and search to video and social, and we offer training to staff too.
Samaritans is an internationally recognised volunteer-led charity, with a national, regional and local presence. We provide support to people who are struggling to cope - last year our volunteers responded to a call for help every six seconds. With more than 20,000 volunteers and around 150 staff, we have been providing emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over 60 years.
You’ll be based at our friendly head office on a beautiful millpond in Ewell, Surrey - just a 30-minute train journey from Waterloo and 15 minutes from Wimbledon. As an employer we offer a good range of benefits, including 25 days’ holiday plus 3 ‘well-being days’, free parking and Health Cash Plan.
