Tell Us Your Story
If you
have contacted Samaritans in the past and our service has helped
you, then we’d be very grateful if you could tell us your story. We
can use information about your experience and how Samaritans has
helped you in many ways.
- We can use your story in leaflets or in media interviews to let
distressed people in a similar situation to yours know that we are
here 24/7 for them too.
- We can use your story in fundraising materials to inspire the
general public to donate to us.
- We can use your experience of our service – good or bad – to
help us understand how we can improve our service.
You will be sent more information about what’s involved in
providing us with your story once you’ve contacted us, but it’s
worth noting that:
- Your story can be as long or as short as you like.
- You can be interviewed by us in any way you like – over the
phone or face-to-face – or you can simply write your story out and
send it to us.
- You can decide exactly how you want your story used eg in
leaflets, in the media or in internal publications only.
- You can decide how anonymous you want to be – we can change
your name completely, or just use your first name.
- Any personal details you give use will remain completely
confidential unless you have agreed for us to use them.
- You can tell us to stop using your story at any time.
If you think you would like
to share your story then please contact our PR Manager, Sal Lalji
on +44 (0)20 8394 8342 or at s.lalji@samaritans.org. You
don’t need to give Sal your real name if you contact her.
