The Branch is manned entirely by volunteers and now has over 100 volunteers of all ages and from all sorts of backgrounds. Listening volunteers receive thorough training and continuing support, and will tell you that volunteering is a rewarding part of their lives and a great way to learn new skills and make new friends while providing vital help to people in distress or despair. Listening volunteers are expected to commit to 4 hours per fortnight and one 4 ½ hour night duty about once a month. There are also volunteers who support the Branch in other ways such as fundraising and administrative help.

Most of our volunteers come from within the area - Watford, Borehamwood, Radlett, Rickmansworth, Tring, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and St. Albans.

We are always interested in hearing from potential new volunteers. If you would like to find out more, please come to one of our open information evenings which are held at 7.30pm at the Branch and last for about an hour and a half. The dates for 2010 are:
