Our branch was founded by several members of the Birmingham branch. They realised that the demand from Tamworth area warranted a local centre which later developed into an antonomous branch in its own right. After several relocations we now operate independently from the The Phillip Dix Centre on Corporation Street.

During 2008 we answered nearly 8000 telephone calls, replied to more than 1000 e-mails as well as welcoming visitors into our branch.

Tamworth Samaritans currently have in the region of 60 volunteers working as a team to provide round-the-clock support to those who need to talk to someone, in total confidence and without fear of judgement.

More and more now, we are trying to get out of our branch and into our local community so we can offer our support to those in need where it is most convenient of them.
