The next information evenings will be held at the Solihull Samaritan Centre on Station Approach, next to Solihull Station at 7.30pm on :-

  • Tuesday 17th January 2012
  • Monday 27th February 2012
  • Monday 16th March 2012

Solihull Samaritans are delighted that they are also now able to recruit and train potential volunteers who have mobility difficulties or who need wheelchair accessibility. This is thanks to a wonderful National Lottery grant and lots of fundraising that has enabled a lift and extension to the premises to be built.

Friends of the Solihull Samaritans

It costs over £20,000 each year to maintain the centre and with no funding available, the Friends of the Solihull Samaritans work hard organising fundraising events such as the golf day, walks, music concerts and flag days to keep the centre running.

The Friends of the Solihull Samaritans are always looking for new fun ways to raise money for the charity. If you think you can help please ring 0121 704 2255 for more details.

Annual Charity Golf Day Competition 2012

Our next fundraising event will be our annual Charity Golf Day Competition which will take place on Monday 21st May 2012.

The cost of entering a team of 4 players at Copt Heath Golf Course is £300. However, book before 8th April 2012 and take advantage of our “early birdie” special of £280.

The cost includes green fees, beverage and bacon roll on arrival, light refreshments at the 10th tee and a three course evening meal as well as prizes for winning teams and individuals.

As well as being a successful fund raiser, the charity golf competition is an enjoyable event particularly as Copt Heath is a prestigious course with excellent club facilities and a superb restaurant.  For further details please email golfday@solihullsamaritans.org.uk or phone John Davies on 07710 869047.

Recent Fundraising Events

On 24th July this year Solihull Samaritans completed the final leg of the Samaritans smart car journey around the length and breadth of England, Scotland and Wales raising awareness that the Samaritans are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The car visited over 175 Samaritans branches across the three nations, covered over 5,000 miles during its two-week tour and has been driven by local MPs, mayors and celebrity supporters.

Solihull Samaritan's part in this was no exception when they took over the car from the Coventry branch from none other than Lady Godiva.
