Samaritans vision is for a society in which:
- Fewer people die by suicide
- People are able to explore their feelings
- People are able to acknowledge and respect the feelings of
others
Volunteers needed to provide confidential
emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of
distress or despair,including those which may lead to suicide
Full Training and Mentoring Provided
Volunteers commit to a minimum of 3-4 hours per week (to include
one night duty 11.00p.m –3.00a.m or 3.00 a.m-8.00a.m at
intervals)
There are no prior qualifications required but an open mind is
essential.
