"Supporting local Samaritans branches is the
right choice to help the people and communities we serve. One thing
we certainly know how to do well is reach millions of people
through our business networks and operations, and clearly we can
use this to promote the charity and its aims."
Michele Madden, Trader Media Group
Samaritans Stress Down Day
Last year, TMG had a Stress Down day on 1
February to support Samaritans and help staff to reduce their
stress at work. Staff were encouraged to donate a minimum of £2 to
wear slippers to work. Different events and competitions occurred
throughout the TMG offices, including a Character Slippers
Competition in the Trader Media National office, who alone managed
to raise £160. Other offices made stress free zones, and some
brought in massage therapists or manicurists.

Three Peaks Challenge: Get your rucksack
on!
Nick Dodd, Jonathon Mullooly and Mick
Nicholson from Yorkshire Autotrader woke up before
sunrise on 5 October to complete a 25 mile walk on and over the
Yorkshire Dales. It was compulsory that they climb Penyghent
(694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m). That’s a long way
that includes an awful lot of climbing and an awful lot of
descending. The goal was to make the walk in less than 12
hours which earned them an exclusive badge. Their fundraising
efforts resulted in a £602 donation to Samaritans
