The Lawyer Awards

Samaritans is excited to be one of the charity partners for The Lawyer Awards 2011-2014. This support will make a huge impact on the charity, allowing us to continue helping millions of people every year.   

Samaritans help ordinary people who just happen to be going through an extra-ordinary crisis.  Problems like bereavement, divorce, depression, redundancy or debt are problems that could affect anyone.

Worryingly, 2009 saw the first consecutive rise in suicide for a decade - someone attempts suicide every 20 minutes.  Last year we answered over 2 million calls for help, from those suffering from abuse to the seemingly calm businessman, when they feel they have no-one else to turn to, Samaritans is here, 24/7.

I want to thank all of you at Samaritans. Because of you I chose a different path…Thank you to every one of you who took the time to get to know me and listened to me when I needed you most… I thank you everyday for giving me hope’

Only 2% of our funding comes from government sources meaning we are reliant on support from organisations and individuals, like yourselves.
