People contact Samaritans for all sorts of reasons.  Samaritans is so much more than a suicide helpline.  People contact us because of relationship problems, health worries, financial problems, stress at work, loneliness, bereavement, the list is endless.  Over 5 million contacts were received last year and only 5% of those were from people who were seriously contemplating suicide.

Samaritans are contacted every seven seconds by phone, text message, email, or by people coming in to our branches.
