Samaritans - Trader Media Group’s Charity of the Year

Samaritans’ exciting partnership with Trader Media Group was launched in July 2006. So far, Trader Media Group has succeeded in raising £50,000.

Employee fundraising alone has raised over £20,000 supported by matched funding from Trader Media Group.

Samaritans are very grateful to TMG for a further £20,000 to help us develop Emotional Health Communications aimed at steering young people towards better wellbeing.  Staff at TMG came up with the winning design for the communication which will be launched in June 2009.

One of the key goals of the partnership is to help Samaritans reach more young people, particularly young men vulnerable to suicide and self harm.

  • Today, 4 young men will take their own life.
  • Every hour, 2 young people self-harm.
  • There is a stigma amongst young people about asking for help.

With the help of Trader Media Group, Samaritans can offer emotional support to many more young people, helping them to develop skills to deal with difficult times and increase awareness of Samaritans service to those at risk.
