Sponsorship: Medicash
Medicash kindly supported Samaritans Stressed Out Survey as
part of Samaritans first national Stress Down Day in February
2007.
Medicash chose to sponsor this project as there was a good
ethical fit and a hard-hitting relevant message behind the
survey. There was also a good synergy between Samaritans and
Medicash. For Medicash there was positive association with
Samaritans brand and they were able to demonstrate their Corporate
Social Responsibility.
Medicash also benefited from a large amount of press coverage
from sponsoring the survey. The press release with the
Medicash logo and mention in the text was sent to over 4,000
media. This circulation of this (not including websites) was
over 1.5million.
Samaritans
supported by Medicash Stressed Out Survey" was widely covered by
national and regional radio. 104 radio stations carried out
interviews with Samaritans representatives which enabled us to gain
a great deal of coverage about the survey and it’s sponsor.
This included a Radio 5 interview which had 1.59 million listeners,
equating to £90,000 in value.
Charity of the Year: Motorola

Motorola adopted Samaritans as their charity partner
in April 2006. At the end of the partnership Motorola
employees raised over £125,000, which has been an
enormous support to Samaritans branches near Motorola's
offices.
“As a global company with a strong local
presence, Motorola is very excited to contribute to the Samaritans
partnership with not just funds but with technology that can make a
real difference.
The SMS
project has been a real success that I am personally proud
of. It shows how companies and charities can work together on
new and innovative solutions to positively impact people’s
lives.”

Charity of the Year: Trader Media Group
Samaritans’
exciting three year partnership with Trader Media Group was
launched in July 2006. TMG offices across the UK and Ireland teamed
up with Samaritans volunteers for 24:7, Samaritans’ national
fundraising and awareness day, to raise vital funds to help keep
their local branch running 24 hours a day.
So far, over £30,000 has been raised through staff fundraising,
with matched funding from TMG. Staff wore their slippers for
“Stress Down Day” and the more adventurous ones are doing the
London to Paris Bike ride with matched funding from TMG. Since the
partnership began, several TMG staff have signed up as
volunteers.
“
Supporting local
Samaritans branches is the right choice to help the people and
communities we serve. One thing we certainly know how to do well is
reach millions of people through our business networks and
operations, and clearly we can use this to promote the charity and
its aims.”
