Supporting young people

Supporting young people

Every year over 590 young people take their own lives.

It's a shocking fact, but your donation can help us combat teenage suicide and offer young people a confidential place to explore their feelings.

Reducing teenage suicide

We're working on three crucial initiatives to combat teenage suicide:

number 1 Helping pupils develop emotional skills

Our emotional support programme for 14-16 year old pupils help them develop the skills they need to manage difficult times in their lives, and how to offer that emotional support to one another.

So far we have reached over 900 schools and universities, but there are still thousands of institutions we could help.

number 2

Being available whenever young people need to talk

We know that teenagers feel more comfortable communicating by text or email, so we've made ourselves available for them this way, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The demand for these services has been increasing so we need to expand and improve them across the UK so that every young person can contact us whenever and however they want to.

number 3

We're responding quickly whenever there's a crisis

Suicide in schools can act as a trigger for other young people who may be going through a difficult time or struggling to cope themselves.

When a suicide occurs our specially trained volunteers offer support to schools and help those most affected to talk about their feelings and cope with the loss.

We need more trained volunteers to be available for every school in the event of a crisis.

Please donate today and help us to support young people before they reach crisis point
