Try this simple test......

Are you wondering if you have the right approach to be a Samaritan? Well if you are    that is a good sign - many of our team never thought they could be a Samaritan!

If you would like to know more try this simple test. Look at the image below - who do you   think would rather be with John?

 I haven't got a clue!

So what happens if I apply??
When once we receive your application you will be invited along to an Open Evening. Here you will learn more about our work and will have the opportunity to ask questions. Attending this event puts you under no obligation to become a volunteer - you can just come along to find out more - you are welcome to bring a friend with you if you would like to.

If you then decide to proceed with your application you will be invited to one of our selection events. This is not as scary as it sounds - it is just a chance for you to explore in more detail some of the issues that you will come across as a volunteer, and is a chance for us to get to know you better and check that our work would be right for you.

The next stage is our training course. This is split into two parts and the first part is eight sessions - normally one evening a week.

After successfully completing part 1 of the course you will start to take your first calls - but will be supported through this by your very own "mentor" - an experienced volunteer who will give you support and guidance.

So go on - apply today - it could just be the best thing you ever did!
