People Volunteer for Samaritans in Many Ways.....

Our branch has 2 charity shops which require careful management and staffing. Are your skills in retailing? Could you do an occasional shift selling clothes and books in aid of  Samaritans?

People volunteer for Samaritans in many ways. Some volunteer to directly offer support to the people who contact us. Others prefer to volunteer to raise the funds to keep our service open. We are always looking for new people to volunteer in this way. If you would like to support us by offering time to work in one of our shops, please contact the shop and ask to speak to the Shop Manager

If you wish to donate any clothing etc, your contributions will be gratefully received.
Most of our donations are from members of the general public and our dedicated staff. If you have anything at all that you can give or if you would just like to browse, our local branches are open, Monday to Saturday 10am-3pm.

We also need professional advice from time to time. Is your expertise in accountancy? Do you have administrative or secretarial skills? Could you be a volunteer consultant; as an honorary treasurer, psychiatrist, solicitor or a Branch secretary?

Give what you're good at; give the time you can. You can be sure that your involvement with  Samaritans, in whatever capacity, will be rewarding. Whether directly at the other end of the phone or indirectly by helping fund the service, you can be sure that you will be making a very real difference to someone.  Samaritans know that they sometimes make the difference between a caller choosing life instead of suicide.

As you can see there are many ways for you to 'be a part of the picture'.
