Samaritans from the Stockport branch are happy to arrange talks and visits to various instituation where it is appropriate to promote our activities and the support that we can offer to the community at large.
Stockport College Freshers Fair
Young people are a high risk group for emotional turmoil. Their lives are full of change and they often do not know who to turn to with their problems. It is important that they know about Samaritans as a listening and support agency which is available on a 24/7 basis every day. Each year we have a stall at the Freshers Fair at Stockport College, in order to raise awareness of us and our service amongst this group. It is attended by a high proportion of the new students, and we hand out items which will be useful to them whilst acting as reminders. In 2005 the wristbands in our Samaritan green colour were particularly popular.
