Tackling stress in the workplace

WorkLife image 1You invest in your staff and you want to keep them. It makes good business sense. But there will always be times when stress-related difficulties occur in the workplace.

Worklife provides practical skills for your managers or team members to deal with difficult people-based situations.

Our WorkLife programme is based on core Samaritans principles that we use throughout these courses to help your people better manage their own experience at work.

WorkLife uses a series of fictional characters to enable participants to explore challenging situations at work without having to disclose their own experiences.

Worklife has been designed to support the Health and Safety Executive's Standards and Guidelines for tackling work-based stress.

There are two types of course, although either can be altered to meet your specific needs:

  • WorkLife for Managers:
A practical approach to building emotionally healthy & productive teams

  • WorkLife for Teams:
Equipping teams with the skills to support an emotionally healthy and effective workplace

"The work being done by Samaritans in offering practical training and helping managers to improve their ability to work well with others is an important component for tackling work-related stress. A better and wider understanding of what stress is, and what organisations should do, is essential if we are going to bring about a significant change. "
