Samaritans need Friends Too!!

It was in the autumn of 1995 that the partners of several Samaritans began to think about setting up a Friends Group to support the activities of Northampton Branch of the Samaritans.

So What Do Friends Actually Do?

• We support the listening volunteers in a variety of ways, so that they can concentrate on listening to callers who are in distress.

• We organise social functions, fund-raising activities, and help with the running of the branch. For example, the Friends are responsible for organising and delivering refreshments for Samritan Training Days and Information evenings.

• AND WE ENJOY OURSELVES DOING IT!!

The Friends Planning Group co-ordinates activities but there are also opportunities for all Friends to meet informally and exchange ideas.
