Listening Volunteers

We always welcome new listening volunteers.  No formal experience or qualifications are needed to become a Samaritan, but you do need to be open-minded and non-judgemental.   We will provide all the training you need and this involves attending 8 consecutive weekly sessions. 

Joining Samaritans will give you the opportunity for self-growth and a greater self awareness.  We work as a team, making friends, supporting each other and learning new skills on the way

Support Volunteers

Newbury Samaritans are also always looking for volunteers to help raise funds and also to keep the centre running day to day. We run many events during the course of a year which are aimed both at raising awareness of Samaritans and also at raising the funds required to keep the branch operational.
