Join Diversity and TOWIE cast in Record breaking charity event
Friday 18 November 2011
Samaritans is urging its supporters to get
involved in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record ™ for the
‘Largest gathering of people dressed as Santa Claus'.

Join Ashley Banjo and the cast of The Only Way
is Essex on Sunday 27 November in London.
Organised by ITV1’s new TV charity
entertainment show, Text SANTA, over 13,000 people are needed to
smash the existing record, and take part in Christmas-themed song
and dance routine led by Ashley Banjo of Britain’s Got Talent dance
troupe Diversity.
The event at Kia Oval cricket ground will be
filmed and used to help to launch the first Text SANTA show which
will air on ITV1 on Sunday 11 December. Text SANTA will raise
awareness and funds for those most vulnerable during the festive
period and Samaritans is one of nine charities set to
benefit.
To join in the fun everyone will need to have
a full Santa Claus costume fitting the criteria of a white fake
beard, red Santa hat with white trim, red jacket with white trim,
red trousers, black belt. Outfits can be purchased on
the day for just £5. Please note only children over 12 years
old can participate in the Guinness World Record attempt.
Vital funds raised through Text SANTA will
help Samaritans to answer thousands more calls from people who
might not have anywhere else to turn. The charity answers a call
every five seconds and in order to maintain a 24/7 service it needs
to raise over £10 million each year.
