The Stress Down Day Orchestrate event at Earls CourtFantastic team building event Orchestrate is coming to Earl’s Court, London on February 1st to support Samaritans Stress Down Day.

Orchestrate is a musical extravaganza which will turn 150 people with no musical ability into a real symphony orchestra in 90 minutes!  Participants need no prior musical skill - Orchestrate will supply the trainers, the instruments and a conductor.

Supporters and friends are welcome to come along to watch the event unfold. Orchestrate will run from 19:00-21:00 and will be held in the 1st floor Conference Suites at Earl’s Court.

Audio Visual company SPS is supporting Samaritans’ Stress Down Day event at Earl’s Court.  SPS’ Managing Director Robin Coles, a Samaritans volunteer says “The live event industry is at times particularly vulnerable to stress with budgets and targets to be hit and short timescales to work within. It is important to pause a moment to reach out to our customers and colleagues and check on their wellbeing.”

Dominic Rudd ready with a guitar for OrchestrateChief Executive of Samaritans, Dominic Rudd is signed up to take part in the event. He says “Orchestrate is going to be a fantastic event, I find listening to music is a great way of de-stressing. Being part of a team of 150 people all learning new instruments will be challenging, but the outcome will be extremely rewarding, creating a great sense of achievement for all involved, whilst raising vital funds for Samaritans.”

Stress Down Day

Samaritans launched Stress Down Day last year and the charity is hoping 2008’s fundraising day will be even better, with more people becoming aware of the issue of stress in the workplace and finding positive ways of dealing with it.

Notes to editors

It is the aim of Samaritans to make emotional health a mainstream issue.  Samaritans' vision is for a society where fewer people die by suicide because people are able to share feelings of emotional distress openly without fear of being judged.  Samaritans believes that offering people the opportunity to be listened to in confidence, and accepted without prejudice, can alleviate despair and suicidal feelings.
