Royal visit to Luton Carnival Centre

HRH Prince Edward made a royal visit to the Luton Carnival Centre on 28th January, to which Luton Samaritans were invited along with 5 other organisations.

Our Carmel 1055 finished the beautiful costume that had been started by Steve and Colin, and under their guidance worked every day for about a fortnight, until the day before the visit an artist helped to add the finishing touches.

The Luton Carnival Centre is the only purpose built centre in the country and Luton Samaritans were proud to be invited for the royal visit. Jacqui ex 1029 looked absolutely stunning in the beautiful costume, which will be worn again by Jacqui at the Luton Carnival in May.

One person from each group was presented to Prince Edward, and Luton’s Liz 217 was the lucky person for us although he did chat to other members of each group, before unveiling a plaque and making a speech.

The day ended with a beautiful buffet provided for everyone.
