Samaritans in Luton is run entirely by volunteers. Nobody gets a salary, not even the Director.
None the less, it costs the Branch over £3000 per month to provide the service and we are almost entirely dependant on voluntary support.
We are reliant upon our own efforts, ably assisted by Samaritans Fundraisers who work tirelessly on our behalf throughout the year.
This is also not forgetting the generosity of members of the community that we cover.
Funds are sought from many sources, including street collections, house to house collections, assisting in supermarkets and manning market stalls, but more significantly by appeals, donations and legacies.
