Welcome to Harrow Samaritans Samaritans offer confidential support to anyone passing through a crisis, in despair, or thinking of taking their life. We offer time and space for people to explore their feelings and think through their options for facing the future. We are not a religious or political organisation. We listen, we don't judge and we don't offer advice. We are run entirely by volunteers, and, like all Samaritans branches and the organisation as a whole, receive no state funding, and have no affiliations to any other organisations. Also like other branches, we are autonomous from the national charity, supporting ourselves through our own fundraising efforts while promoting the mission and values of the movement. The Harrow Branch was founded in 1965, and is one of over 200 branches in the UK and Ireland providing confidential, emotional support to people of all backgrounds, 24 hours a day. Our 80 volunteers receive over 20,000 contacts per year, talking to callers on the phone, by email or face to face. You can telephone or email us at anytime, 24 hours a day, throughout the year. Alternatively, if you would like to talk face to face, you can drop in between the hours of 10am and 9pm. (If you know when you are coming it can help to phone ahead to be sure a Samaritan will be available). Whether you need to speak to somebody about difficulties in your life, or whether you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Harrow Samaritans, we hope you will find the information you need on this website. Please use the links on the green border to find out more about our work. |
