Donations 2007 We rely on support from the local community to keep us going. We were delighted to receive support form the following organisations who, along with our own fundraising contributed over £4,500.
On-going Training Each year our Volunteers commit to attending training sessions, these are designed to inform us of any changes that may be happening within Samaritans and maybe test our skills. One module being presented at this time concerns our efforts to respond to those who choose to contact us by email.
Opportunities to Join Farnborough Samaritans The local press have recently highlighted our need to recruit further volunteers to support our local community. If you are a good listener, prepared to set aside any preconceived ideas you may have about others, are patient and prepared to give at least three hours a week then we would love to hear from you. Take a look at the Join Us pages for more information. Branch Visit Each Branch of Samaritans is visited by experienced Volunteers from other branches approximately every three years. The aim is to review the practices of each branch and make suggestions for improvements if needed. A group of Volunteers visited the Farnborough Branch during the Summer of 2006 and were really pleased with the standards and make a number of constructive comments to enable the branch to improve the quality of care for those who contact us and for our Volunteers.
Annual General Meeting 2006.
The AGM will be held at St Peters Church Hall on Thursday 27th April - 7pm arrival for a 7:30 start. In addition to the usual business there will be a guest speaker - the topic this year will be "Call Distribution".
Donations We would like to extend our thanks to the individuals / organisations who have made donations to us in the last few months - these include:
In total the money received exceeds £4,000 - money that will be used to keep our centre running so we can support those who call us. See how we will use this money here.
Santa News! We helped Santa, at Wyevale Garden Centre at Windlesham on the run up to Christmas 2005.
Update! We have raised in excess of £750 by helping Santa - we are very grateful not only to Wyevale for this opportunity but to all the Parents, Grandparents and others who have brought children to see Santa. Thank-you! See how we will use this money here. |
