Statistics – 2008

During 2008 the average number of volunteers, at Enfield, Haringey and Barnet branch, keeping the service going was 70.

We responded to 19,949 people on the telephone and saw 41 visitors in the Centre. We also supported 1,100 inmates in Pentonville Prison, through training and guidance for around 18 ‘Listeners’ (inmate volunteers).

Enfield, Haringey and Barnet Samaritans cost over £30,000 to keep open in 2008 and is grateful to our shop in Whetstone, individual donors, corporations and trusts that support us.  We are also appreciative of those people who think about us when making their bequests.
