Youth Pack is a useful resource for teachers or those working with young people. It helps you to introduce young people to a range of issues that affect emotional health and wellbeing. The workshops enables young people to examine feelings around emotional wellbeing and to explore the impact of emotional ill health and distress. It contains a series of practical workshops and information in the following areas:

Self-harm Report. This is a summary of research into self-harm in teenagers exploring reasons for self-harming, methods, risk factors and coping strategies.
This research was commissioned by Samaritans and carried out by the Centre for Suicide Research, University of Oxford. |

Young men speak. A look at young men's views about depression, suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide. This report includes findings from a survey into suicidal feelings and young men as individuals and how they relate to their families, schools, communities and the wider world. It also looks at working towards a more sensitive response and reports what young men want as part of a solution. |

Listen up. This reports explores the emotional health of the nation and looks at how people respond to emotional distress in those around them. It explores the importance of talking about distress and the value of listening.

Youth Matters. This report examines self-harm and those at risk of dying. A survey asked young people about their views on self-harm what it is, what they think about doing it and what they think of others who do it.
