Fundraising - Help save our branch
In these difficult economic times, our role in the community is now more important than ever and we have already seen a significant increase in calls to our service, in recent months.
Enfield, Haringey and Barnet Samaritans
Enfield, Haringey and Barnet Samaritans branch has 70 volunteers who give up, on average, 170 hours of their time each, for free, every year to provide our service.
Our branch responded to just under 20,000 calls and received 41 visitors at the branch in 2008. It cost over £30,000 to provide this service and this was funded by donations and funds raised by our charity shop in Whetstone.
Project ‘Phoenix’
In 2009, we launched Project Phoenix, which aims to rebuild our dilapidated premises and rejuvenate our charity shop.
This will be critical to the survival of Enfield, Haringey and Barnet Samaritans and our ability to continue to provide our service to the local community.
With bespoke new premises, we will be able to attract more volunteers, handle more calls, emails and visitors and improve training facilities.
We need to raise £300,000 over the next 12 months and your help is needed to make this happen. If you are able to pledge funds please contact us.
Thank you.
