Our branch, in the centre of Eastbourne, has over 70 'Listening' volunteers available to answer the telephones, talk to visitors and reply to emails.  We also have a number of Supporting Samaritans who help with other administrative and practical tasks.

It costs about £38,000 each year to run Eastbourne Samaritans. We receive no central or local government funding and our funds need to be raised locally through events, legacies and donations. Our Samaritan shop in Grove Road also provides some of the income we need.

We are passionate about our work and know that, for many people who are going through difficult times, being able to communicate with us can be a life-saver. Talking things through in confidence can really help. We are just ordinary people making ourselves available to those in distress.
