Samaritans at Derby

There’s been a Derby Branch of Samaritans for over 40 years. Our first phone call was taken on 27th January 1961, and we were staffed then, as we still are, entirely by volunteers.  At the start of 2005 we had 65 volunteers doing regular duties, but we are currently looking for new recruits.  To find our more about becoming a volunteer, see our Volunteering page.

Where Are We?

Our centre is located at 110 Burton Rd - not far from the town centre - for further details see How to find us . Our branch telephone number is 01332 364 444.

Most contacts are by phone, but we are open for visitors from 9am until 10pm every day of the year for visitors. Some people contact Samaritans by letter, and a growing number now use email.  In February of 2003, Derby branch became the 100th branch 'online' to receive and reply to emails.
