Dave running an Information Evening.
If you can answer YES to these questions, then WE need YOU.
At Chesterfield Samaritans we are always on the look out for new volunteers, both listening volunteers to actively help people in distress and also supporters to help with fundraising, staffing the Samaritans Charity Shop, publicity, outreach and administrative tasks.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact the branch on 07530 330575 at any time. The recruitment team will get back to you with an information pack asap.
You can then find out whether our work is right for you by coming along for an informal chat (by appointment) or just turn up at one of our Information Evenings to be held as shown below. You will have chance, over a cup of coffee, to talk to current volunteers and get all your questions answered
If at this stage you think that Samaritans is right for you, we ask you to complete an application pack and arrange an interview. This will be with 2 serving volunteers and will allow us to get to know you and check that you are suited to our work, as well as giving you a chance to ask any remaining questions.
When the interview has been successfully completed, and the references checked, listening volunteers will be invited to undertake full training which will take place over 5 consecutive Sundays. After completing training you will then be welcomed into the centre to begin the work of a Samaritan, under the supervision of an assigned mentor.
To find out more please ring the centre on 07530 330575
