Cardiff Samaritans - 40 years young Cardiff & District Samaritans celebrated their 40th Anniversary
in 2005. One of the oldest continuously operating charities
in South Wales, Cardiff & District Samaritans is an energetic
and dynamic branch which has strong links with the community and people
it serves.. As well as being available 24 hours a day to telephone callers and open for face-to-face meetings for 14 hours every day, Cardiff & District Samaritans also take their message out into the wider community - regularly attending festivals such as the Cardiff Mardi Gras, the Big Cheese Festival at Caerphilly, the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and various shows and productions at the Millennium Stadium. We serve Cardiff and the South Wales Valleys, and thanks to a recent grant award from the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust, we will be engaging in a significant programme of outreach work in the Valleys - in schools and community centres. Reaching Out Cardiff Samaritans has also received corporate and public support in the past year from the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Arriva Trains Wales and the Lloyds TSB Foundation. Cardiff & District Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to
provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing
feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to
suicide. Our service is entirely confidential and non-judgmental.
Callers can telephone 029 20 344 022 or 08457 90 90 90; email
