Samaritans branches are run entirely by volunteers.

You can either be a Listening volunteer - someone who is willing to spend time listening to other people and encouraging them to talk about their feelings - or a Support volunteer - we always need help with the administration of the branch, publicity, fund raising, recruitment etc.

If you are interested in volunteering, please ring us on 01243 826333 for an application form, or ring the national volunteering number 08705 62 72 82 and your details will be passed to us.

Alternatively, come to our next information evening, where you can meet experienced volunteers and find out more about what we do. Information evenings start at 7.30pm at the branch.

After completing an application form, the next step is an invitation to a group evening; an opportunity for prospective volunteers to gain a greater insight into the work of Samaritans. This is followd by a period of initial training.
