If you would like to call the Samaritans then please call 08457 909090. If you live near to Basingstoke you may possibly come through to our branch. Everything you say to a volunteer over the phone is in confidence.

Can I email you anonymously?
The easiest way to maintain your anonymity is to create a free email address specifically for contacting us. To create an address visit www.yahoo.co.uk , www.hotmail.com or www.gmail.com. And, of course, anything you write to us  is treated in strictest confidence.

You can call in and see us 
If you'd like to call into the branch and discuss your feelings with someone face to face then you may do so. We'll listen to your problems. and as always, everything is in confidence.

Why do people call Samaritans?
People contact us for completely individual reasons. Commonly mentioned are relationships, work, money, stress and feeling suicidal.

"It is like a sort of safety blanket to me, as I know that I can always talk to someone who is not connected to anything and will not pre-judge me or the situation I am in. The time I contacted Samaritans was when I had all my family around me, was in a loving environment and was completely 'safe'. However, sometimes this can be the most lonely time.
