We need support volunteers like you

Samaritans are looking for support volunteers to help us provide 24 hour service in our local community.

Our branch is run, managed, staffed and funded by volunteers - people just like you.

Give what you're good at
We're all different. We all have different skills to offer and experiences to share. If you are a good listener, you could be at the end of the phone supporting someone in distress. If you have great organisational skills, you could help to coordinate our local events. You might enjoy word-processing - we always need help with administration.

Or maybe you have an eye for figures - why not help us with our book keeping and accounts? Perhaps you like writing letters - you could help us appeal for funds. Or you might want to talk to the local press and media about our work, helping to publicise our service. There are lots of interesting opportunities waiting for you!

Give whatever time you can
We all have different amounts of time to give. If you only have a few hours a week, you can still help us. We'll try to find a way for you to get involved, whatever time you can spare. We know your time is precious - we also know what a difference it can make.

By supporting Samaritans
You'll be giving something back to our local community, you'll have the chance to meet lots of new people, access training and support, gain new skills and put your current skills into action.

Our service requires a dedicated and committed band of well-trained volunteers to keep it going and we are constantly in need of new recruits. For our branch to be able to fulfil this we need at least 100 volunteers a week!
