Training: : Selection & Training Dates 2009-2010

Please note you must either download, fill in and return the application form or contact Samaritans on 01271 374343 and speak to our New Volunteer Secretary before you can attend either the Selection Days or any of the Training Modules.

Module 1 Thursday 22nd January 19.00 - 22.00 hrs *
Module 2 Thursday 29th January 19.00 - 22.00 hrs
Module 3 Saturday 7th February 09.30 - 16.30 hrs
Module 4 Thursday 19th February 19.00 - 22.00 hrs
Module 5 Thursday 26th February 19.00 - 22.00 hrs
Module 6 Thursday 3rd March 19.00 - 22.00 hrs
Module 7 Thursday 12th March 19.00 - 22.00 hrs
Module 8 Saturday 21st March 09.30 - 16.30 hrs

Every module needs to be attended before a new Samaritan can begin duties in the Centre.

Both Selection and Training are held at St John´s Ambulance Hall, Braddon House, 1 Princess Street, Barnstaple. EX32 7EU

DIRECTIONS from A361 (Link Road) - Up past Tesco on Eastern Avenue. Turn right onto Barbican Road and right at next roundabout onto Alexander Road, straight on at traffic lights to next roundabout (Vicarage Road) and take 3rd exit (Princess Street). St John´s Ambulance building is right there on the corner.

DIRECTIONS from Braunton direction - follow signs to Barnstaple town centre, down Braunton Road & Rolle Street. At roundabout turn left and then immediately right follow road (Mermaid Cross road) to roundabout - turn sharp left, St John´s Ambulance building is right on the corner.

Induction
Held at Samaritans, 2 Summerland Street, Barnstaple, North Devon (Directions to the Centre)
Induction usually take place within two weeks of completion of the Initial Training.
