Do YOU need to talk?
I need someone to talk to ...
I feel so low and depressed ... I feel I can't tell my parents ... I am so worried about my best friend / son / daughter ... I don’t want to be here anymore ... I'm 12 years old and nobody understands me ... I've cut myself again ... My life is such a mess ... I hate the way I look / I am ... Are you feeling any of the above or any other kind of emotional distress and wish you could find someone who “has the time to listen to you”? ? If so please contact us. You may be concerned about someone else, a family member, a close friend or work colleague, we can offer support to both of you. (See below for details). Contacting Us If you feel that you need to talk to us there are a number of ways that you can do so:
Do you know someone else that needs to talk? Does you feel someone you know needs support? Samaritans are happy to accept referrals from individuals or organisations. Not everyone “looks depressed” or “seems to be suicidal”, even if they are.
If you know someone who feels like this and would like some help supporting them, please do encourage them to call us. If this is not possible we would be willing to try and contact them. If we try to contact the person you are concerned about, we would be able to tell you whether we have made contact or not; but because confidentiality is so important to us, we would not tell you anything that was said.
Reasons for calling As we pointed out on our front page, there can be many reasons for someone to call us, but you don't have to be suicidal and there are no age restrictions. If you are experiencing feelings of distress or despair then please do get in touch. |
