No. Our name is an historical accident. When The Daily Mirror first found out about our service, they described it as "Good Samaritans", and the name stuck. You do not have to be religious in any way to volunteer or to get in touch. Volunteers do not impose their own religious, political, philosophical beliefs on people who get in touch.
